Mojang hires creator of Cube World

After posting his preference of working in small teams, Notch announced the hiring for Wolfram von Funck – the creator of popular game Cube World.

For those unfamiliar, Cube World is a fascinating game blending the procedurally generated, easily destructible worlds of Minecraft together with the question and adventure aspects of Zelda.

Notch announced the hiring via Twitter, where he confirmed that Cube World will remain unaffected and is still a private game.  WIth that being said, the "current plan is to plug his brain directly to a keyboard and sell whatever comes out."

"He's a great guy, and I'm super excited he wanted to work with us," Notch said of Funck.

Last week, Notch said he expected to being work on a new game in the "near future".  Odds are Funck won't be a part of that though.  Notch pointed out that he would be the only programmer on the new game.
