Monkey D. Luffy and his crew are coming to the 3DS

Get ready to set sail with Monkey D. Luffy and the crew, on an all new 3D RPG for the Nintendo 3DS, titled One Piece: Romance Dawn. The world of One Piece is certainly no stranger to the video game realm, however, we've never seen the crew in a traditional RPG setting.

Players will be able to level up characters, and custome and craft tons of new items that will allow them to change the characters' appearance and battle stats. The game will also employ an Active Turn Based system, called the "Grand Tactical Battle" system, which will allow palyers to choose and plan their attacks, based on the situation they're in.

“The ONE PIECE franchise boasts action-packed battles, compelling characters, and sensational settings all interwoven into a truly remarkable storyline that has captivated fans for years,” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “By adapting this widely acclaimed anime license into an exciting new RPG experience, our goal is to provide fans familiar and thrilling adventures as they become the hero and set sail on their own voyage to become the Pirate King.”

One Piece: Romance Dawn is currently slated for a Holiday release on the Nintendo 3DS.
