Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U will have a day one patch that adds USB keyboard functionality. This was confirmed by Christian Svensson, Capcom US Senior Vice-President, on the Capcom-Unity forums. Svensson wrote:
I've just been told by the PM that there will be a day 1 update that will add functionality to support USB keyboards for chat (naturally, there's also a soft keyboard for those to use… and other features we'll talk about later).
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate launches alongside a Nintendo 3Ds version this March. Since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is an online game, keyboard chat functionality is a must in my opinion, since not everyone wants to use voice chat.
