Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate weapon replicas are up for grabs

With the first official, wearable Mega Man helmets still in our rear-view mirror, Capcom recently revealed a more monstrous bit of fan service: life-size Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate weapons.

The studio’s “HowDoYouHunt” contest will hand out replicas of entrants’ favorite monster killers. Prizes aren’t limited to weapon class alone, either; winners can pick out the exact hunting horn or great sword or so on that they’d like to struggle to carry. That said, the selected weapon must appear in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate as an original (e.g. no collaboration DLC).

The contest will run through 9 a.m. Pacific (12 p.m. Eastern) July 31, 2015. To enter, record and submit a video of no more than 60 seconds in length “demonstrating your favorite weapon appearing in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and why you like it,” the official rules read. Videos may consist of everything from sock puppet theatre to cosplay to monologuing about why the switch axe is superior. All videos must be shared to YouTube, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #HowDoYouHunt, and conclude with the line “How about you? How do YOU hunt?”

Winners will be contacted within 20 days of the contest’s conclusion. Happy hunting.
