Monster Hunter: World Food Looks Amazing in Real Life

Monster Hunter: World is very pretty. There’s no debating that claim. So when the fantastically presented food in-game was created in real life, it comes as no surprise that it looks positively mouthwatering.

Twitter user Ki-Ki shared a couple of photos of a Monster Hunter: World meal his wife prepared to look just like the one in the game. Take a look below, but try not to drool on your keyboard/phone.

The ale in the game was replaced with a melon liqueur, which actually still fits the aesthetic. There’s also the addition of little tiny sweets that were meant to look like the Scout Flies, and to add a little surprise for the end of the meal.

Unlike crafting food in-game, it didn’t take a few seconds of animation to create. This real-life representation took a whopping 3 hours to cook and cost 4,000 yen (~$36.80 USD) for all the ingredients. Well, that’s not too surprising, somebody had to go out and slay a monster for these ingredients!

Monster Hunter: World has been tracking very well since its release. It surpassed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as the current top paid game on Xbox. It’s also reviewing very well, receiving a 4.5 out of 5 on GameZone. It’s available now on Xbox One and PS4, with a PC version coming in the Fall.
