The massive expansion for Capcom’s open-world smash-hit Monster Hunter World finally has a release date for PC. Iceborne will come out early next year, on January 9th for PC. Watch the new PC trailer to see the icy new world at 4K resolutions and 60fps.
Capcom’s soft reboot of the long-standing Monster Hunter franchise turned out to be one of the best decisions the Japanese publisher made in a long time. Not only did the departure of the series from the Nintendo system not end in a financial catastrophe, but turning the traditional handheld game series into a full-fledged AAA game breathed new life into the Monster Hunter franchise. World went on to become a massive success, not only on the PS4 and Xbox One but the belated PC port was also a huge hit.
A diverse locale, rich with endemic life. Numerous monsters that prey on each other and get into turf wars. A new hunting experience, making use of the densely packed environment. Monster Hunter: World, the game that brought you a new style of hunting action, is about to get even bigger with the massive Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion!
With Iceborne, Monster Hunter World has received its biggest expansion since it came out and just like the base game, console players got to play it last month and we think it’s a must-have for Monster Hunter fans. PC users once again have to wait a bit longer. Today, we learn that the wait won’t be too long, with a January release. The wait should be worth it however, since Capcom has proven with Monster Hunter World that they use the time to create the best-possible PC version.
Pre-orders for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne are live now on Steam for $39.99.
