Monster Hunter World: Iceborne movie crossover adds story quests & characters

Players of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne can look forward to an exciting new content drop early next month. And it’s all about the upcoming Monster Hunter movie. You can watch the crossover trailer for the event below!

The Monster Hunter movie starring Milla Jovovich comes to cinemas on December 30th. Well, it remains to be seen just how successful that will be right when the entire world is in the midst of the second Coronavirus wave.

But still, despite early fears, the movie adaptation actually looks pretty solid in the recent trailer. Even with some unfitting elements for the IP like modern military themes. But that’s just the setup!

However, the Monster Hunter love now extends back to its roots with a movie and game crossover. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is set to receive exciting new content right from the movie.

Of course, Milla Jovovich is part of it. The movie’s star comes to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne as part of a limited-time event. Together with Artemis, Jovovich’s movie character, two Event Quests are also inbound. Capcom promises a two-part side story which should give players enough reason to jump in. Completing these two quests will net players exclusive movie tie-in gear.

As mentioned, this crossover will only run for a limited time. Thus, we advise you experience it as soon as possible when it launches on December 3rd 4:00pmPST / December 4th 00:00 GMT.

But there’s even more. As part of a celebration of the crossover, each player who logs in Monster Hunter World starting November 26th 4:00pm PST / November 27th 00:00 GMT can claim their special item bag. This is what you can expect:

  • Ancient Potion x30
  • Dust of Life x30
  • Golden Egg x10
  • True Armor Sphere x3
  • Earplug Jewel+ x1

Monster Hunter World and its large Iceborne expansion are available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
