Capcom has made a surprise announcement regarding one of its most popular franchises. Monster Hunter will be making its Nintendo Switch debut later this summer on August 25th in Japan in the form of Monster Hunter XX, an enhanced version of the 3DS game, Monster Hunter Generations. The game will also release a 3DS version that will have cross-play support with the Switch version, but owners of Generations will still be able to transfer their save data to the Switch version, though not vice versa.
The Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX will come with 1080p resolution support as well as four-player local and online multiplayer.
Here is the game's first trailer:
Monster Hunter XX is the second Nintendo Switch game to come as an Enhanced Version of a previous release following Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but given the quality of Monster Hunter Generations, it's hard not to see XX taking off in its own right.
