Over the weekend, Xbox One Preview Members were treated to a sneak peek of Halo 5: Guardians' upcoming multiplayer beta.
The two-day Early Access period offered members one game mode, Slayer, on two different maps, Empire and Truth. It gave players a chance to go hands-on with the changes incoming with Halo 5, but more importantly it gave 343 Industries a chance to receive feedback. And apparently, more previews like the one offered with Halo 5: Guardians are on the way, according to Xbox Head Phil Spencer.
@TheRazorRex @PNF4LYFE @aarongreenberg Having Preview members help us test launches will be more common, good learning for us.

Spencer later went on to explain " Just like OS updates, preview members help us find things before we go broader, appreciate the help."
Seeing as how many games continue to experience rough launches — Halo: The Master Chief Collection being one of them — I sincerely hope Microsoft continues to roll out these beta periods. Sure, it might ruffle the feathers of a few gamers possibly disappointed with the changes, but I think a smooth launch is much more valuable.
