More details on Assassin’s Creed VR experience

Recently a Virtual Reality experience for the new Assassin's Creed movie was announced but there wasn't much information to go on, but today Ubisoft has told us a little bit more.

When the president of Practical Magic VR, Matthew Lewis, announced the VR experience he said that "It’s not a game" but will be a cinematic experience that takes place alongside the movie and will include the various filming locations and sets used in the film.

Lewis continued "We’re capturing and re-creating the world from the film in really high quality, using massive textures [and] complex geometry,"  he then added that this will be an attempt to create a VR experience by using the same level och technique as the movie itself. This experience isn't just a try to get some fast cash from the movie, a team spent the summer in a warehouse on Malta scanning costumes, swords, weapons, and other various items to create as an authentic experience as possible.

“It’s very, very hard work, […] We’re going really, really far trying to create this experience so that it’s really on par with the motion-picture experience.” Lewis added, so it is clear that whatever the Assassin's Creed VR experience holds it won't be a haste work but a rigorous, well planned, and well done experience on par with a traditional motion-picture.

The Assassin’s Creed movie itself arrives in theaters on December 21 2016, but much of the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience is still a mystery. Stay tuned to Gamezone for the latest news about both the Assassin's Creed movie and the VR experience.
