Mortal Kombat 2021 film actor felt sick from the on-set fatalities

Mortal Kombat is known for its hyper-violence. Spines get ripped out, floors are covered in blood, and so much more. It’s genuinely a bit messed up. That said, it’s the trademark of the series and it sounds like the upcoming film adaptation plans to stay in line with that.

Actor Lewis Tan revealed in a new interview with ComicBook.com that the fatalities in the film made him feel sick.

“Let me just say this, there were some days on set where I felt sick. I am not kidding, they did not hold back.”

The Mortal Kombat film is being shrouded in secrecy for the time being but at least they’re really putting their all into it. Tan’s character is a mystery at the moment as well but iconic characters like Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and Raiden are expected to appear in the film. The film has finished shooting and a trailer is reportedly coming pretty soon.

Mortal Kombat will join a plethora of other video game film adaptations such as Sleeping Dogs, the Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland, and even a Just Cause movie. All of these are gearing up to shoot pretty soon and hopefully lift the curse on video game films once and for all.

Mortal Kombat is still on track to release on January 15th, 2021.
