Yesterday, Mortal Kombat's co-creator Ed Boon was put on record saying that if Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat were to cross into each other's world, it would have to be in an Xbox exclusive game. Xbox head Phil Spencer even thought that would be a good idea.
That's not the only potential game on the horizon from Boon, there's even talk of a horror movie fighting game. Horror stars have already made an appearance in Mortal Kombat before; the lead baddies from Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Alien, Predator and Texas Chainsaw Massacre have all made an appearance, but they might just get their own game.
A recent interview with Boon proposed that the developer use these guest characters in their own game, to make a "horror icon showdown" and Boon wasn't entirely against it.
"Yes, yes! You know, as we've been accumulating them [horror icons], that idea has been coming up more and more frequently," Boon said to Game Informer (via IGN) . "You brought it up and a few other people have brought it up like 'why don't you do a horror movie fighting game?' Maybe one day we'll do it."
The real question is, beside the horror characters already featured in Mortal Kombat… who else would be on the fighting game's roster?
