Mortal Kombat X delayed again for Xbox 360 and PS3

The last-gen versions of Mortal Kombat X have reportedly been delayed yet again. Previously listed by GameStop for a June 2nd release, it appears the game has now been pushed back to fall, with no exact date listed.

Publisher Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the game's last-gen release, but GameStop reportedly informed customers on Friday that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game had been delayed from summer until fall.

The last-gen versions were originally due out alongside the Xbox One and PS4 versions on April 14th, but was delayed shortly before the game's launch. Though the current-gen versions went on to release on time with positive reception, we're kind of left with a giant question surrounding the last-gen versions.

We're not sure why the last-gen versions have been delayed, but this isn't the first time this type of thing has happened. Last year, Warner Bros. also delayed the last-gen ports of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Respawn Entertainment's Xbox 360 port of Titanfall, which was handled by Bluepoint, was delayed as well.

With developers clearly struggling to get newer games to run on the older hardware, it's no surprise that publishers like EA and Ubisoft are beginning to focus solely on current-gen systems. Even Activision has yet to announce Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
