Mortal Kombat X DLC Kombatants will be free through Tower Mode rotation

The co-creator of Mortal Kombat has confirmed that DLC Kombatants for Mortal Kombat X will be available for free, through a timed character rotation. From what we know, the DLC characters from the Kombatant Pack add-on will be available in the rotation, including Tanya, Predator, Jason and Tremor.

All of the kombatants in Mortal Kombat X will be available through the Tower Mode's rotating "Living Towers" even if you don't own them. These towers will essentially allow player to "try" the DLC characters, but the DLC characters won't be available in any other game mode (if you don't own them).

The "Living Towers" comes in a set of three and will feature different characters per tower, the mode offers a sort of challenge for players to climb up the tower with the featured character.

“Every time you turn the game on, there’s going to be three towers in the Living Towers section. One changes every hour, one changes every day, and one is called the Premier Tower, which is kind of like an event tower…So for instance, if [DLC character Jason Voorhees] comes along, you’re going to have a Jason tower that you play as Jason. And you can even use that tower if you didn’t purchase Jason. So it’s really cool, it gives the players a taste of what the character [is] and what it’s like to play them."

Getting a hold of DLC characters and trying them without committing to purchase the DLC is pretty great. I can't wait for this game to release on April 14th (on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC).
