Pokémon has been around for about 20 years, and with the ability to transfer Pokémon between games, your hard earned Pokémon have been traveling with you for a while too. There are plenty of people out there who have sunk countless hours into each game, looking to catch every single one of the Pokémon available in each game and have kept their saves for years.
What if that all went away and it was your girlfriend or boyfriend that did it? One person looked to answer that question with a poll.
The poll asked the following question:
“Imagine you got in an argument with your romantic partner (boyfriend, girlfriend), and then he or she erased your Pokémon save data. After that, your partner showed remorse. Would you be able to forgive him or her?”
After two days and 32,988 votes later, the results were in have revealed that nearly two-thirds of voters would not be able to forgive their partner and would probably break up, the rest voted that they would be able to reconcile.
In total, 65% of voters (around 21,442) chose they couldn't forgive their partner for deleting their Pokémon save data and 35% voters said they could forgive their partner for deleting their Pokémon save data.
Some voters went on to detail if someone set out to delete their Pokémon save data, something that doesn't happen with just one press of a button, it shows a lack of respect for your partner's interests and that even when given the option to stop, they would still move forward with it. Others said you'd simply have to raise your Pokémon again and that it's not too bad.
