Motorbike chase leaves Star Wars stunt-woman in coma

Source suggests "malfunctioning" metal camera arm was at fault

It has been reported today that British stunt-woman OIivia Jackson – who will appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens – has been put into a medically induced coma after a motorbike stunt went wrong.

The Buckinghamshire-born stunt performer suffered a punctured lung and severe head injuries while working on Resident Evil: Final Chapter, after colliding with a rogue metal camera arm. One source described the equipment as "malfunctioning", when speaking to The Sun newspaper.

“It was totally out of her control” the source revealed. “She had no chance. She is a lovely lady, the most generous person you could ever meet.”

Reportedly the stunt-woman, 32, was not wearing any form of protective gear while performing this stunt, presumably because they could never have foreseen a mishap of this magnitude.

On a brighter note, her Husband and fellow stunt, David Graham, claims that his wife has been "fighting hard," and later praised the support she has received during this difficult time.

He posted the following message on his Facebook page:

“She’s my inspiration and my world and one tough little mother f**ker! She's fighting hard and the team of people working on Olive have been amazing and have been doing some incredible work. Thanks again to everybody! I whisper to her everyday telling her about the support she's getting world wide!"
