Multiplayer Brawler, A Gummy’s Life, lands on Steam Early Access

Steam’s Early Access program is chalked full of incredibly novel ideas and earlier this week; it got one more in the form of A Gummy’s Life. A Gummy’s Life is a family-friendly multiplayer brawler that takes some inspiration from the likes of Super Smash Bros, where players control a gummy combatant and take to one of ten uniquely themed levels and proceed to beat the sugar out of each other until one is left standing.
It probably goes without saying that A Gummy’s Life is best played with a group of your best friends as Local Multiplayer is the main mode of the package. But if you want to go solo, you can play A Gummy’s Life with up to 15 different bots for an added level of chaos.
Here’s an official feature list for A Gummy’s Life:
  • Different maps with very different tastes: Each map has a uniquely different feel. Watch your fallen foes come back to life as AI in the zombie map as they try to stop you from winning! Score a goal and aim to be the last one standing in the football field!
  • A treat for all ages: Easy to pick up—even your grandma may kick your butt!
  • Realistic Gummy physics: Wobble your way to victory or flop as a loser.
  • Choose your flavor: With ten different gummies in the game’s early access, you’ll get to customize their color to set yourself apart from the crowd.
The star feature of A Gummy’s Life is easily its level design, as each one has something different to throw at the player. One level keeps spinning back and forth, which turns the battle into a struggle to stay in the middle to keep from flying off, while another will gradually unleash gummy zombies which you can use to your advantage to damage your opponents. There’s also a level that lets you play soccer, which is emblematic of all of the little details in the game that let you make up your own rules.
Daniel Barba, CEO at EP Games said:
"We love games that pay attention to details. Based on that, we wanted gamers to go through a different experience with their friends in every single one of our levels. We also want our game to make people laugh—laugh a lot! A Gummy’s Life has no age boundaries, and we know it’ll be a lot of fun to play with your friends or family."
A Gummy’s Life is available now on Steam Early Access and retails for $9.99.
