It was revealed yesterday that Dragon Age: Inquisition will have four-player co-op and will be separate from the single-player campaign.
Today, we have more details and a gameplay video to look at.
Inquisition will be an 'action-packed dungeon-crawler' that will emulate Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode by being 'fast-paced…requiring strategic team gameplay while adding Inquisition's tactical class combat and extensive loot and crafting systems.'
Playing multiplayer will not be required to achieve a full-game experience, nor will it affect the storyline of your single-player game. There will be micro-transactions for currency (Platinum), but it's interchangeable with currency you can gain playing the game itself. A total of 12 characters, four for each class (warrior, rogue, and mage), will be available at launch – with new characters releasing monthly.
There won't be any trading between characters, friends or between multiplayer and single-player.
The reasoning behind having a loot-centric dungeon-crawler as multiplayer instead of putting four-player co-op into the single-campaign is sound (at least in my book). The sheer massiveness of Inquisition would take away from BioWare's focus on the games key aspects.
