Square Enix is looking at incorporating "multiplayer elements" into Kingdom Hearts 3, though it's not clear how the studio plans to do so. In an E3 video created by Square Enix, the game's director Tetsuya Nomura teased the possibility of some sort of online capabilities, but didn't elaborate.
"Multiplayer elements is also under consideration," Nomura said. Does this mean full-blown co-op? Or perhaps some online challenge-type mode?
"We're looking into online capabilities, with those in mind, we'll keep that under consideration," he offered, not going into further detail. Kingdom Hearts 3 was first teased during Sony's E3 2013 PlayStation press conference and although some gameplay was shown, Nomura believes it may have been announced a tad bit too early. We did learn, however, that the game would be appearing on PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One; it will be the first time a Kingdom Hearts title will appear on a Microsoft console.
