Multiplayer only version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 available on PC

It's pretty darn cheap.

Activision has announced a campaign-free version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PC via Steam. Starting today and ending on February, 29th, Activision has made the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack exclusively available on Steam for $14.99.

The Multiplayer Starter Pack is basically a stripped down version of Black Ops 3 that gives players access to public ranked multiplayer matches and game features like the Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith, Arena, Freerun, Theater and the Black Market.

Unfortunately, there are a couple things that the Multiplayer Starter Pack doesn't include that you should be aware of, like the Zombies game mode.

Here's everything the Multiplayer Starter Pack does not include:

  • Zombies game mode
  • Campaign game mode
  • Ability to play in Multiplayer custom games
  • Ability to Prestige (your level will be capped at 55 in the Starter Pack)
  • Access to mod tools or modded content (once released)
  • Access to unranked server browser (once released)
  • Ability to Fresh Start your profile
  • The ability to access Dead Ops Arcade II and Nightmares mode

Any PC player that purchases the Starter Pack will be able to upgrade to a full version of the game, with $14.99 deducted from the price of the full game.

This 'lite' version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 might sound familiar to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners. The last-gen version of the game did not include the campaign, but it did include the Zombies game mode.
