Multiplayer support coming to Sniper Elite V2 on consoles

World War II tactical shooter Sniper Elite V2 is set to receive full multiplayer support on consoles, 505 Games and Rebellion announced today.

Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall, the multiplayer add-on will add several new modes: "Team Deathmatch", "Deathmatch", "Team Distance King", and "Distance King". Each of them supporting up to 8 players.

“There has been tremendous support for Sniper Elite V2 since we announced our relationship with Rebellion and it’s been exciting to see that carry through to release and beyond.  As a thank you for that support, we’re very pleased to offer a full multiplayer feature set, free of charge, to all Sniper Elite V2 console fans," said 505 Games North America president Ian Howe.

“Rebellion is very excited to release this multiplayer support for console.  We have always believed in supporting and building our games’ communities as best we can,” added Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion.  “This is in part to say ‘thank you’ to dedicated gamers for buying our games and also to say keep an eye out for our next big Sniper Elite announcement.”

The free update will be available this fall.
