Murdered: Soul Suspect developer Airtight shuts down

Airtight Games has shuttered its doors and begun auctioning its equipment just weeks after the release of its newest title Murdered: Soul Suspect.

Geekwire discovered the developer’s empty shell, the studio’s closure made obvious by a sign promoting the sale of equipment and the building itself. Strangely, the studio’s website is quite live and makes no mention of the closure. Similarly, Airtight execs have not clarified the situation despite repeated contact.

Airtight suffered a wave of layoffs earlier this year, calling the loss of 14 staff “part of a necessary restructuring.” At the time, the studio’s projects were said to be continuing on schedule, but have likely been thrown into the air given today’s closure.

Murdered: Soul Suspect released in early June (to our review calling it a niche but enjoyable murder mystery) and is Airtight’s most recent title. However, they are also known for action title Dark Void and much loved puzzler Quantum Conundrum.
