In an inevitable move, Microsoft has officially updated its free “My Xbox Live” app for iOS devices with iPad support for the Companion feature, which transforms an iOS device into a remote control for a number of Xbox 360 actions.
The free update spans across all three generations of iPads and gives gamers the ability to navigate their consoles, launch games, control DVD actions, and view dashboard videos. Players can also access and browse their Xbox LIVE account, including: friends, messages, achievements, storage, and much more. These features are now in line with what iPhone owners were getting; Microsoft aims to continue support for both devices, though no further details were mentioned.
Not much to say about this one. We’re curious, though – is anyone actually utilizing the free “My Xbox Live” app on either your iPhone or iPad? If so, let us know what you think and give us your thoughts on how Microsoft can better this technology until SmartGlass hits this fall.
