N++ Ultimate Edition is bringing 4,340 “hand-crafted” levels of intense Ninja parkour to Xbox One later this summer

If you had to pick one platformer that is so refined in the basics of the genre to play for the rest of your life, N++ is certainly a game that fits the bill. It's a masterfully designed game, and the developers know it. They go so far as to call it "the world's best platformer" in their official press releases, although they aren't all that crazy for saying so.

After all, the game has been in constant development for about 13 years, releasing iterative updates that add more content and challenge to the experience. Xbox One gamers will be getting a chance to test drive the long-running platformer according to developer Metanet, as the game will launch as N++ Ultimate Edition, which doubles the size of the last N++ release. This isn't the first time Xbox gamers have gotten to test run the game, as the Xbox 360 got a previous iteration, N+ back in 2008.

Coming with the Ultimate Edition are 60 new color schemes, new levels, new ninja headbands, new secrets, a new Hardcore mode (as if the game wasn't challenging enough), and brings the game's level total to a whopping 4,340 unique stages. That's a lot of game right there.

N++ features a lengthy solo campaign, couch co-op, and a local competitive race mode. Suffice it to say; there are plenty of ways to play the game.

I'll leave you with the last line in the press release as some food for thought.

"N++ Ultimate Edition truly could be the last platformer anyone may need to buy."

N++ Ultimate Edition does not currently have a release date, but check back in the future for updates.
