Namco Bandai in ‘active discussions’ to support OUYA

Japanese video game developer and publisher, Namco Bandai, is "currently in active discussions" with OUYA to brings some of its properties to the new open gaming platform which has taken the industry by storm.

In the latest update on the OUYA's Kickstarter, which has just 14 hours to go, it was confirmed that Namco would support the OUYA, though details were limited. They did, however, offer a statement from Namco's VP of Marketing, Carlson Choi.

"NAMCO BANDAI Games and OUYA are currently in active discussions to bring some of the world's biggest gaming properties to the exciting new open gaming platform," Choi announced.

"NAMCO BANDAI brings with it a rich history of iconic gaming franchises, from classics like PAC-MAN and GALAGA, to seminal franchises like TEKKEN and Ridge Racer, and we're excited to explore how we can work with OUYA to bring some great titles to the forthcoming console."

Fans can head over to Namco and OUYA's Facebook page to cast your vote for any games you want to see on the OUYA.

In the same update, it was revealed that the OUYA will officially support up to four controllers. For those looking to add controllers to their initial shipment, you can update your pledge today so that everything arrives at the same time.

The OUYA's Kickstarter is set to end in 14 hours. In 30 days, the gaming platform has managed to raise $7,794,682. Just yesterday, the OUYA sold out of the $225 reward level entirely. The Developers Special reward also sold out.
