According to Nintendo, the 90's hit music service Napster is now available on the Wii U. Not Spotify, Not Pandora. But Napster.
Napster made headlines originally in the 90's when it was sued by nearly every musician for allowing unlicenese and uncopyrighted downloads of their music and eventually shut down before forcing users to purchase songs. After being bought out by Best Buy, they have struck a deal with Nintendo to allow the Napster app to appear on the Wii U.
The app will be free for the first 30 days and then will cost $9.99 per month although there is a limited time $1 offer for three months as a promotion. The Wii U gamepad will be integrated and allow for searching and browsing right from the touch screen.
The app is available now on the Wii U. What do you guys think about this and Nintendo not using a more popular service?
