Nathan Fillion’s visit to Guardians of the Galaxy 2’s set is the closest we will get to Firefly

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 already has a nice roster of iconic actors. Kurt Russel is Star-Lord's dad, Sylvester Stallone makes a cameo role and even Jeff Goldblum. But fans of the 2003 space western Firefly would probably flip their lid if they learned Nathan Fillion could have cameoed in the film. Well, it turns out he did. Almost. Sort of.

Fillion paid a visit to the set and took a moment to dream of being a part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Thankfully, Nathan salvaged the shot from said deleted scene and posted it on Instagram.

… He looks like a space caveman. While we sit here wondering what the context was, we mourn the loss of the scene that could have been on the cutting room floor (if it was ever made). It looks extra silly, and honestly, who couldn't use a little more Nathan Fillion in their lives?

With five whole post-credit scenes, we were hoping one of them would have been this space-barbarian. That's okay though, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to release May 5, and we're excited about that.
