Naughty Dog: We’re working on two brand-new experiences

Creative Director Neil Druckmann today revealed that, as they busily polish the remastered The Last of Us for its PS4 release, Naughty Dog is also juggling two new projects.

“We’re working on this re-release, but at the same time we’re working on two other brand-new experiences,” Druckmann said. What those experiences are exactly is anyone’s guess. At the very least, we can cross an immediate sequel to TLOU off the list, seeing as how ND recently confirmed that a viral piece of rumored concept art was nothing more than fan work (but some damn impressive fan work).

Addressing the rerelease of TLOU, Druckmann describes the project as a developmental nightmare.

“We expected it to be Hell, and it was Hell,” Druckmann told Edge. “Just getting an image onscreen, even an inferior one with the shadows broken, lighting broken and with it crashing every 30 seconds … that took a long time.”

In any case, Druckmann promises a big improvement between the two versions and that the studio is “just getting started with the new generation.”
