NBA 2K18 has its cover athlete, Kyrie Irving

For the first time ever, a player wearing a Cavs uniform is gracing the cover of an NBA 2K game – and no – LeBron James' cover doesn't count as a Caveliers cover, he was with MiamiIami Heat when he was on the cover on NBA 2K14.

The Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving has been named the cover athlete for NBA 2K18! Irving can be found on the standard cover of NBA 2K18 but not on the Special Edition cover, that's Shaq's domain.

Check out the cover below:

Irving has been a key player for the Cavs. Last season he got the game-winning shot in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. During this year's playoffs, Irving has been maintaining a pretty stellar average of 24.5 points per contest.

NBA 2K18 launches on September 19 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Special Edition owners get early access to NBA 2K18 starting on September 15.
