Prior to its cancelation last week, EA's NBA Live 13 was destined to be a downloadable title. It was also set to release on October 3rd for Xbox 360. This is all according to Microsoft's Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) who wrote on Twitter yesterday, "NBA Live 13 was supposed to be today's XBLA title, but EA made the decision not to launch it today."
Instead, EA decided to cancel the game after it did not live up to the company's expectations. Instead, they will focus all of their time and energy on "making next year's game great".
Although its unfortunate that we'll never see what NBA Live 13 had to offer, I'm anxious to see EA's plans for next year's title, and how they'll go about competing with the already established and impressive NBA 2K series from 2K Games. This year, NBA 2K13 again impressed us, scoring a 9/10.
