EA's NBA Live franchise is coming back this after an odd one-year hiatus following a rather troubled existence over the last several years. There's a lot that the game aims to get right, and one of those things they will be doing is including WNBA teams for the first time. This marks the first time that the league and its teams and players have ever appeared in a video game.
There will be a specific mode in order to access the clubs called WNBA Play Now and all of the teams and players have been "specifically balanced to reflect the unique playstyle of the league and skills of its players," according to EA. The addition of women's teams into the NBA Live franchise follows that of FIFA, who did so starting in 2016.
NBA Live also conducted head scans on several of the league's star players including Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, and Sylvia Fowles as well as a mo-cap session with first overall pick Kelsey Plum.
NBA Live 18 launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Fall.
