Need for Speed gets a closed beta but delayed into 2016

Ghost Games has announced that Need for Speed is getting delayed in order to ensure performance optomizations. The good  news is that it is only for PC while consoles are still set to release on November 5th.

In an announcement on the studio's official site, the team reported that PC players wishing to have an unlocked frame rate is the main reason for the delay.

Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016. Our PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release dates will remain the same, starting November 3, 2015 in North America and November 5 worldwide. This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one.

Many players have been asking about a beta for the game on Xbox One as well as PS4 and the studio also announced that this is coming to fruition. As Need for Speed is a constantly connected game, they wish to ensure the servers hold up and are set for the load that will come when the game releases. After being updated at E3 with a lot of information such as converting social media likes to in game currency as well as live action video scenes between races which vary depending on your style, how are you looking forward to Need for Speed? Let us know below.
