Need for Speed reboot will be online only

The Need for Speed reboot is coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this year with a number of features — with the exception of offline play. The racing game will be online only, but will have "nice" benefits for online play.

The official Twitter accounts cites that the benefits come in the form of "more variety and a more rewarding experience," with no further details.

Yesterday details on the game's release date, game modes, game location and features were leaked through Microsoft's Xbox One website. The game's page has been taken down since the leak, but it did not mention that the game would require a persistent internet connection.
