Netflix is now available globally

Netflix has officially expanded their reach and have added 130 countries to the list of regions able to stream the service.  The announcement came from Netflix CEO Reed Hastings during the first official day of CES 2016 in Las Vegas.

Hastings regarded the moment as the "birth of a global TV network," during the 45-minute promotion on Netflix's programming slate. Up until now, one of the biggest questions that aimed at Netflix has been, "Is Netflix available here" and the answer, for the most part, is yes.

China and Syria have yet to join on adopting the streaming service, but Hastings assured fans saying "We're continuing to work on that and we're very patient." To stream in China, Netflix will need to get permission from the government – which isn't the easiest thing to do. With Netflix covering more territories and making more income, we can expect some more original shows to be released in the future.

Netflix won't be making the content it streams in specific regions available globally though, saying they are "Still prisoners of territorial licensing — moving quickly to have global availability of all content on Netflix."
