As you probably know, Netflix has steadily grown a catalog of exclusive high-quality content over the years beginning with Lilyhammer (RIP) all the way back in 2012. While the digital streaming giant is primarily known for their episodic dramas and stand up comedy, they will be venturing into a new area of TV that they have not yet previously explored, extreme sports competition. Meet Ultimate Beastmaster, an all-new obstacle course competition featuring some of the most incredible athletes on the planet.
It’s not completely kosher to say it, but yeah, it’s basically Ninja Warrior with a bigger obstacle course. It also doesn’t hurt that the have a bit of star power with Sylvester Stallone serving as Executive Producer and Terry Crews as one of the hosts.
Ultimate Beastmaster is also going to be an international competition that will film in six different countries, the U.S., Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Germany, and Japan. Each country will have their own hosts in their own language and will provide 18 athletes for the competition.
The obstacle course is also said to be quite massive, as according to Entertainment Weekly, the course will stand at 600 feet long, 80 feet wide, and almost 80 feet tall. It is supposedly “the largest consecutive set ever built for an unscripted TV series anywhere in the world.”
Ultimate Beastmaster releases on Netflix on February 24, 2017.
