Netflix is working on a ‘The Witcher’ show

Who will be Geralt?

Yep, you read that headline right – The Witcher is getting a show. Netflix has teamed up with CG visual effects company Platige Image S.A. to create a 'The Witcher' Netflix series. If Platige Image S.A. sounds familiar, it's because they've done cinematics for the games.

The in-game cinematics were directed by Tomasz Baginski, who will be one of the show's directors.

While most people know the Witcher series from CD Projekt Red's video game adaptation, the Netflix series will be drawing inspiration directly from the source material – the books. The Polish author behind the best-selling series, 'The Witcher', will be working with Netflix to help make sure the adaptation from novel to Netflix series goes over well.

“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” said author Andrzej Sapkowski, who will service as a creative consultant, in an official release. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”

The show is set to be produced by Sean Daniel, the man behind the Mummy franchise, and Jason Brown, one of the folks behind SyFy's The Expanse.

Whether this show will be fully CG, live-action or a hybrid has not been detailed.
