Netflix is officially removing a barrier from streaming on the go – the internet requirement. Today, Netflix announced that offline viewing will be heading to iOS and Android devices (phones and tablets). Unfortunately, offline viewing will not be available on game consoles, computers or any other Netflix app/device.
The feature will not bring an additional cost to your subscription fee and will definitely make traveling a bit more entertaining.
"While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we've often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited," wrote Netflix director of product innovation Eddy Wu. "Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection."
To begin using the feature, all you have to do is update your Netflix app to the most recent version and download the shows you'd like to watch ahead of time.
