Netflix’s Iron Fist will be played by Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones

Sir Loras Tyrell by day, martial arts super hero by night?

Following up on Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the soon to be Luke Cage, Netflix's Iron Fist has found its lead star. The role will be played by Finn Jones, who plays Sir Loras Tyrell in HBO's Game of Thrones.

Iron Fist will be the 4th network exclusive collaboration with Marvel Studios, following the above mentioned three. His real name is Danny Rand, and Danny learns the ways of the Iron Fist martial arts system at an early age. Tibetan practicioners high up in the mountains began teaching Danny at the age of nine. He remained there until a much later age, when he returned to New York City (because where else, right?) and teamed up with Luke Cage a.k.a. Power Man. They formed the Heroes for Hire, and the two also had a brief spin off comic book for several issues. Other than standard martial arts prowess, Iron Fist also has the ability to summon mystical powers such as aura energy dragons.

We haven't seen or heard much of Iron Fist lately in either movies or games. Most recently, he appeared in Disney Infinity 2.0, where he had his own figure as well minor quest line with Luke Cage in the Spider-man play set. Once all shows are released, Marvel hopes to bring all four characters (Cage, Iron Fist, Jones, Daredevil)  together in a series called The Defenders similar to the Avengers films.
