Netflix’s Sense8 trailer is filled with action, drama, and orgies

I'll be honest, until today I had no idea what Sense8 was. Heck, even after watching the official trailer for the original Netflix series from the (sometimes) brilliant minds of The Wachowskis (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas), J. Michael Straczynsky (World War Z), and Grant Hill (The Matrix), I still don't know.

But you know what? I'm certainly intrigued.

So today's trailer gives us a brief overview of what Sense8 is about, without really explaining or spoiling too much.

"One moment links 8 minds in disparate parts of the world, putting 8 strangers in each other's lives, each other's secrets, and in terrible danger," the description reads. "Unlike anything seen on television before, Sense8 pushes the boundaries in style, scope and story."

Despite the action-packed trailer, executive producer Grant Hill labels Sense8 as more of "a drama" at heart.

"At its heart it’s a drama, it’s love stories, it’s contemporary, so it doesn’t have that futuristic element. It has this one basic conceit which is very much the core of the project, what these eight Sense8s are," he told Games Radar.

All 12 episodes of Sense8 will launch Friday, June 5, only on Netflix.
