Netflix sure is doing well lately. Bright pulled 11 million views in three days and we’re even getting a Witcher series. But despite all this nerd-positive Netflix news, there’s still no current plans to bring the streaming giant to Nintendo Switch.
This wasn’t written out of simply not hearing anything, however. The streaming giant recently took to Twitter to make it clear that Nintendo Switch isn’t getting Netflix anytime soon.

What’s weird about this post is that most companies on Twitter completely ignore questions like this if they’re on the fence about a decision, or are working on something they’re not ready to reveal. In other words, they’re usually very deliberate. So they very deliberately stated that there are currently no plans to bring Netflix to Nintendo Switch.
Coincidentally, Netflix is still running on the Wii U. It’s not as if the two companies have no avenue of communication. If the only way you can watch Netflix is with a Nintendo product, it’s probably best to hang on to your last-gen Wii U, if only for that purpose. To be fair to Nintendo, however, there’s also a handful of good games on there as well to keep the system around. Unfortunately, it’s a literal handful.
So until further announcements are made, Nintendo Switch is still just a gaming platform. Even without Netflix support, the Switch is doing fantastically in terms of sales. Is Nintendo waiting for a lull in sales to pop that stat buff? Or is there some other reason they’re not bringing Netflix to one of the most successful consoles in video game history?
