Netflix is currently holding a two-day press event in Paris, where some of their exclusive shows like House of Cards, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Daredevil will be taking the stage to answer questions and announce exciting updates for their respective shows.
Daredevil's Charlie Cox, took to the stage earlier today to announce that the highly anticipated show that combines the four standalone superheroes — The Defenders, will begin to start filming by the end of this year.
"What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome.
Cox is still in the dark for what the story will actually consist of, but he is hopeful that some open-ended storylines for Daredevil season 2 will cross over.
"I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show," Cox cautioned. "I'm very excited to see how those worlds combine, and interested to see totally how those shows become one. In terms of wrapping up any storylines, maybe they’ll do some of that in The Defenders. Or maybe they won’t.”
Finally, he also managed to mention that there has been no confirmation of a season 3 for the beloved Daredevil series.
“We don’t know if there’s going to be a season three,” he revealed to a crowded room of journalists. “I certainly don’t know.”
The next superhero in the Marvel-Netflix timeline is Luke Cage who is set to premiere later this year on September 30. He will then be followed up by the second season of Jessica Jones and the last superhero entry, Iron Fist, who will be played by Game of Thrones star Finn Jones.
