Netflix to produce live action Death Note movie

In Netflix we trust.

Last year we heard whispers of another live-action Death Note film, set to release in Japan sometime this year. Apparently, there is no shortage of live-action Death Note movies, unless you live outside of Japan.

Luckily, Netflix is in final negotiations to produce the live-action Death Note that is set to be directed by Adam Wingard, the director of V/H/S and You're Next.

Based off of the Japanese manga and anime series, the live-action Death Note movie is set to star Nat Wolff, from Paper Towns and Margaret Qualley. If you're unfamiliar with the series, it follows a story of a student who finds a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it.

Once the student begins killing, the series opens up into a cat and mouse game between the student and detectives trying to find him.

With Netflix upping the superhero series game, we can only hope they help produce an amazing Death Note movie.
