Netflix is looking to 'adjust' their price next month, starting in the United States. Subscribers of the digital TV and movie streaming service will see an increase in prices starting in November – if they subscribe to anything above the 'Basic' tier.
Netflix released a statement on the price increases saying:
"From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster."
The Basic service will remain at $6.99, however, the Standard price will rise from $9.99 to $10.99. The price of the Premium tier will rise from $11.99 to $13.99. The Standard tier allows HD streaming and the use of two screens being able to use the service at once and the Premium tier allows for the use of four screens at once, as well as HD and ultra HD.
These extra dollars for streamers will likely result in more Netflix Original content (like Stranger Things) to release on the streaming service. It's being said that the service is looking to make their budget close to $7 billion for original content next year.
