NetherRealm celebrates Superman’s 80th birthday in Injustice 2 mobile

One of the most beloved characters in all of fiction is DC’s golden boy, the Man of Steel, Son of Krypton: Superman. He has successfully made the jump from the comic panels to the silver screen and he’s even been in a couple successful video games such as the Injustice series.

He has had a long history and this year, we’ll be celebrating his 80th birthday! To celebrate, NetherRealm will be adding a special new Superman variant in the mobile version of Injustice 2. The team has gone back to the very start and are giving Superman his original costume as seen in Action Comics #1, yes that includes the classic red underwear on the outside of the suit!

There’s even a homage to that classic cover on Action Comics #1 in the form of a special move where he throws a green car at his foe. Classic Superman will also invade matches in The Arena at random, if players can take him down they’ll earn some Hero Shards!

As of right now, there are no details on if Classic Superman will make an appearance in the console or PC versions of Injustice 2. Injustice 2 Mobile is available for iOS and Android right now.
