NetherRealm Studios founder Ed Boon loves to interact with fans via Twitter in the form of little teases for upcoming content or gaining feedback via polls. Today, the active Twitter user posted a poll that caught the eye of many DC fans and Injustice fans alike.
The poll in question is to determine which version of iconic Batman character, Red Hood, players would like to see in the game. Two characters have donned to Red Hood persona, Joker and Jason Todd. Before The Clown Prince of Crime became The Joker, the night he was reincarnated as the menacing Batman villain he wore a tuxedo and red cape with a fully red helmet over his head to help commit a crime with a small group of criminals. Sadly, he ended up falling into a vat of chemicals at the Ace Chemicals factory and then transformed into the insane clown we all know and love today. You can see this incarnation of the character in The Killing Joke storyline which can be read in the iconic graphic novel by Alan Moore or seen in the recently released animated film, Batman: The Killing Joke.
Which Red Hood do you think should be in Injustice 2?
— Ed Boon (@noobde) August 11, 2016
Former Robin, Jason Todd, took on the Red Hood persona after being "murdered" by The Joker in a warehouse. Jason Todd came back to Gotham a little while after his "death" and changed his ways of vigilantism by going around murdering criminals. The character taunted Batman showing him that he failed to save Jason Todd and that if Batman wants to truly make a difference in Gotham he will need to break his one rule and kill The Joker. The character wore a red mask, a biker jacket, combat boots, and a piece of chest plate armor that features a red bat insignia on it. The character can be seen in many different comics, 2015's Batman: Arkham Knight video game, and the animated film Batman: Under The Red Hood.
Injustice 2 is set to release next year on Xbox One and PS4.
