TOURNAMENT NO. 1 – THE FIRST OPEN, WORLDWIDE ONLINE QUAKE-TOURNAMENT EVER
Networkleague
takes pride in offering the first open – and free to join – worldwide online
Quake-tournament ever with more than US$ 20.000 in cash prices.
Based
on Networkleague’s unique online gaming technology the tournament will start
with 4 regional qualifications, The French, The German, The UK and the US
Battle. Any player can choose among these qualifications no matter which
country he or she comes from.
The
tournament will start in the beginning of May and each qualification session
consists of three rounds:
Round
1, in which each participant shall play 20 matches (1-on-1), and the 20% of
the players having the highest rating after this round will continue to

2, in which each participant shall play 20 matches (1-on-1), and the 32
players having the highest rating after this round will continue to
The
Regional Finals, in which the participants shall play against each other
following a cup-system. The 4 regional winners will continue to
The
Final, being a LAN-based play-off in London on Saturday the 2nd of June. All
expenses will be paid for the finalists trip and accommodations in London.
Anyone
can join the tournament – from novice to veteran. The Networkleague engine
will track each match automatically, store stats, and continuously calculate
ratings, accuracy etc. In the beginning of every round the players will be on
the same level, meaning, that they will have the same tournament rating. In
the end, the tournament rating will differentiate winners from losers.
The
winner of Networkleague’s Tournament No. 1 will get a prize of 5.000 US$ and
the 3 other finalist will get 3.000 US$, 2.000 US$ and 1.000 US$. But it is
not only the top-players who will get prizes. About half of the cash prizes
will go to other than the super elite, e.g. to the most suicidal player, the
most camping player, etc.
Networkleague’s
Tournament No. 1 will be free to join and play, and no technical skills are
required – except having a version of Quake 3 and Internet access.
