‘Never say never’ when it comes to a Gears of War FPS

Gears of War developer Epic Games hasn't ruled out the possibility of releasing a first person shooter entry in their iconic series.

"I'm a big believer in never say never," executive producer Rod Fergusson told OXM.

"It's all about what's interesting in the industry at the time and where fans want us to take it," he added.

Perhaps Gears of War is better left as a third-person shooter. I mean the series has basically ruled the cover-based, third-person shooter genre for the past decade with developers, for years, attempting to successfully create a clone. Wouldn't it be weird for the shoe to be on the opposite foot?

We won't have to worry about that for a while as Epic Games is currently working on Gears of War: Judgment, a prequel to the highly successful trilogy.

"We don't want to say never but it's not on the top of my mind either," Fergusson concluded. "We look at what makes sense and move in that direction."

Gears of War: Judgment is set to release on March 19, 2013.
