New Alien: Isolation screenshots show off terrifying xenomorph, impressive detail

Cheer up, gamerbros; I know it's Monday, but someone over at Creative Assembly is watching over us, having just released a fresh batch of screenshots for Alien: Isolation. Nice way to start the week, right?

Revealed earlier this monthAlien: Isolation is set fifteen years after the events of Alien and tells the story of Amanda Ripley, daughter of movie series' protagonist, Ellen Ripley. Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee, heads to a large trading station where the audio log detailing the events from the Nostromo has been discovered.

The new images don't spoil much, but they do show off a great level of detail that we can presumably expect when Alien: Isolation releases for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (Xbox 360 and PS3 versions also coming). Creative Assembly doesn't flat out say these are next-gen images, but they look it to me. The level of detail, from human hand to the terrifying 9-foot xenomorph, is astounding.

Alien: Isolation is due out in late 2014 for the aforementioned platforms.
