New and improved Avatars return with the New Xbox One Experience next week

Microsoft continued to preview the upcoming New Xbox One Experience, giving us a closer look today at Avatars which are finally making a return.

They aren't just returning, though, they are coming back better than ever. As explained by Xbox engineer Richard Irving, Avatars on Xbox One come with some visual fiedlity improvements, such as improved anti-aliasing, lighting, shading, and an "altogether more modern feel."

And, of course, all of the customization options are returning. You can create an Avatar, change the look and clothing style, and browse all of the items you've already earned or purchased. Once created, you can choose to have your Avatar show up across the New Xbox One Experience, including your Profile, Activity Feed, Game Hubs, and more.

Avatars will arrive with The New Xbox One Experience, alongside backwards compatibility functionality and a slew of other improvements, on Thursday, November 12th.
