The Baldur's Gate games have been with us for a long time, 17 years to be exact. Soon Baldur's Gate will be legal enough to…Do anything except drink, rent a car and adopt a dog in the United States. In 2012 we saw an enhanced re-release of the original Baldur's Gate and its sequel.
The thing is, people loved this series and they still do. The developers at Beamdog recognize that and so with that in mind, they have officially revealed what their mysterious Adventure Y game is — a bridge between Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
That means that there's a new Baldur's Gate coming and it is a prequel to Baldur's Gate 2 and a semi-sequel to Baldur's Gate. A game can't have two sequels without becoming a trilogy…can it? I don't want to think too hard about the technical part of just what that makes the new Baldur's Gate, instead I'd rather focus on the gact that it exists. During Spring we will be hearing more information on the games release and it promises to be 'something bigger' than Beamdog has 'ever done before.'
